FAQs

  • HOW CAN I APPLY TO BECOME AN ARTISAN?

See our 'Artisan Application' page on the website where you will find all the information you need to apply to participate as an artisan. All applications are done through the website. Please be sure to include as pointed information as you can about what you are selling, including places to see pictures of your pieces (website, social media, etc.). We use this information to determine the location of each artisan so we don't have a lot of repeats at each venue.

  • WHAT ARE THE FEES?

The fee for an in-person event is $150 (a 6’ table or equivalent is provided). Please be aware the locations vary and you may be located in a retailer or restaurant where they choose to provide their own tables.

  • CAN I SHARE A TABLE?

Absolutely! We ask that each person sharing the table apply and a note of who they are sharing within their application. Please also send us an email with this request - don’t forget to state both your business names and given names in the email.

We require each artisan to apply separately so we can promote them separately.

  • HOW IS THE TABLE FEE PAID?

To keep everything as organized as possible, we are taking payment upon application. We understand this is not what was typical in the past, but this event has grown so much that our small team needed to streamline work.

If you are not selected to be part of the Craft Revival ( you do not handmake your product) we will refund your application less any processing fees.

We appreciate your understanding that this is about handmade art and reviving craft.

  • CANCELLATION POLICY

The deadline for receiving a partial (50%) refund is two weeks before the event. Any cancellations made after 5pm on the Saturday two weeks prior to the event will result in the forfeiture of the entry fee.

We know it's so hard to anticipate life but, we have spaces to plan, maps to print, sponsors we are responsible to, entertainment to be paid and venues to coordinate. Our fixed costs do not change.

    We appreciate your understanding.

  • I WOULD LIKE TWO TABLES, HOW DOES THAT WORK?

Please apply twice and note in your second application it is for a second table. This will allow us to understand you want more space and didn’t accidentally apply twice (it happens, we’re all human).

This also applies if you want space for two tables, but not the second table.

This policy is to ensure we are equitable to all participants.

  • WHAT DOES MY TABLE FEE PAY FOR?

Your table fee covers hiring musicians and performers, professional photography and videography to capture each event. Along with sponsorships, your table fee supplements the cost of marketing/advertising, posters, rentals, event insurance and the custom designed logo for the event.

  • TABLE SET-UP

We do our best to provide you with a 6’ table and at least one chair (we recommend you stand to chat with everyone (if possible)). The size of your space can vary as we are taking over unconventional spaces -this is the nature of Craft Revival.

You are responsible for bringing a tablecloth (remember, we supply the table) and anything to set your table apart from others.

Set-up times vary by location. We will send you an email and let you know more details.

  • I SENT IN MY APPLICATION TO BECOME AN ARTISAN BUT I HAVEN'T RECEIVED A RESPONSE?

The Craft Revival team is very small, so if you haven't heard back please give us a little bit of time. We receive a lot of applications and it may take us some time to go through all of them. If you haven't received a receipt of payment or confirmation of application please send us an e-mail, which includes your ARTISAN/BUSINESS NAME as the subject line, to thecraftrevival@gmail.com and we will check out records.

  • HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE AS A VOLUNTEER?

We usually begin looking for volunteers about a month before the Craft Revival takes place. We will sometimes create a post on our Facebook page, but if you haven't seen anything, please feel free to e-mail us at craftrevivalvolunteers@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a volunteer!

  • I'M INTERESTED IN BEING IN THE NEXT CRAFT REVIVAL. WHAT DO I DO?

Please check out our artisan mailing list page. There you can sign up to be notified of upcoming applications and their deadlines. It is up to you to update any email address or name changes.

  • HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO IS LOCATED WHERE?

This is a multi-step process and a very good reason to carefully select what type of category you fit within.

The first step is looking at accommodations for accessibility. This could be wheelchair access, extra space to make the area accessible for the artisan or the need to be away from scents (candles/food/etc.) or excessive sounds/lighting. We take accommodation seriously and work with individuals to make sure their location works for their specific accommodation.

After the number one priority of accessibility, we place those who requested, and paid for, two tables. This is also where we look at who requested to be placed beside each other. This may be to provide support for breaks or because their products complement each other. Once we place those who take a little extra time we sort all of the remaining by their selected categories. We then randomly place everyone trying not to repeat the artisan category in one location, or beside each other (this has accidentally happened and we feel terrible about it). We then go back and shuffle through and take into account some artisan styles and align them with spaces (bagels next to bras might not be ideal).

After all of that, we do a quick once-over and check again for too many duplications. We also make sure personalities align (yes, this is something we do take into consideration).

Lastly, we do a last-minute scramble to fit late applicants into spaces. We call around and add locations if needed.

Honestly - location placement is the most difficult part of the Craft Revival, and where we lose a lot of sleep, but this is where we originally set ourselves apart. We have continually filled unconventional spaces with artisans and performers to revive craft!
